Making Impressions: Leaf Pottery Workshop

Part of our Making Impressions Workshop Collection, Amy Thurber of Dove's Foot Pottery will lead the Leaf Pottery Workshop on Saturday, October 19 and Saturday, October 26 in our studio.  Using a variety of leaves and stoneware clay, natural plant materials are coaxed into plates, platters, vases, vessels or bowls during the first class.  Hand-building techniques are used.  Plaster molds are optional, to aid in forming trays and bowls.  At the second class, (after bisque firing) students will finish the pieces using Majolica under glazes, and food safe - nontoxic glazes.  After glaze firing the pieces may be picked up by students.

This workshop consists of (2) classes and is limited to a maximum of (12) students.  Students are encouraged to bring their ideas, or inspiration to class, or can be guided in a project by Amy.  The workshop is suitable for all experience levels, including beginners; ages 16 and up.

All workshop materials, tools & services are included in the workshop registration fee.  A variety of leaves and natural materials for impressions will be provided.
