Exploring the underwater figure with artist Michele Poirier-Mozzone

Virtual and in-person events with the MA-based painter are part of DATMA’s “WATER 2021” exhibition series

The essence of fleeting summer moments are captured by the evocative paintings of Michele Poirier-Mozzone, a fine art painter based in Massachusetts. With the combination of technology and artistry, Poirier-Mozzone explores the human figure’s natural movement, and the distortion created by water, from below the surface. 

The artist will be giving a behind-the-scenes look into her process during two upcoming events, which are free and open to the public:

During this virtual conversation with Anthi Frangiadis, owner of The Drawing Room, and Amanda Hawkins, program coordinator for DATMA, painter Michele Poirier-Mozzone will discuss her inspiration, process, and share how she moves from GoPro footage to finished work of art. Meet artist Michele Poirier-Mozzone at The Drawing Room on Thursday, August 12th from 5-7pm during August’s AHA! Night, a celebration of all things water. Select canvas and giclee prints of the artist’s work will be on display and available for purchase at The Drawing Room. The Drawing Room is located at 36 N. Water Street, New Bedford, MA.
